Dr. David Tollon graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in veterinary medicine and M.S. in Business Administration. Supportive of students and continuing education, Dr. Tollon is also an instructor in the Veterinary Technology program at St. Petersburg College. He has a Dachshund named Abby and enjoys running, swimming, exercising, and spending time with his family in his spare time.
Dr. McKenzie graduated in 2007 with a veterinary medicine from the University of Florida with a professional interest in preventive medicine, dentistry, and soft-tissue surgery. Outside of Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital, Dr. McKenzie enjoys horseback riding, reading, traveling, playing tennis, and spending time with her husband and two children. She also has three pugs, Auggie, Rocco, Pickle, and Turbo. Dr. McKenzie became a partner and owner at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital in April of 2017.
Dr. Cheryl Ayscue graduated in 1999 from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She currently has a lab-pointer mix named Jackson, a cat named Chico, and a leopard tortoise named Sudan.
Dr. Karen Tyndall obtained her degree in veterinary medicine from North Carolina State University in 1998. She has a professional interest in feline medicine. At home, Dr. Tyndall has two cats, Sunshine and Friskie.
Dr. Kimberly Donovan graduated in 1997 with a degree in veterinary medicine from Ross University. She volunteers her time to teach pet CPR training to first responder students. Her areas of professional interest include feline medicine and dermatology. At home, Dr. Donovan has three cats named Smokey, Onyx, and Momma, two dogs named P. Diddy and J. Lo, and a Sun Conure. She even trained her pet bird to bark! She enjoys dancing, horseback riding, and indulging in Italian cuisines when she is not at Oakhurst!
Dr. Buonasera graduated in 1987 from the University of Florida with her veterinary degree and joined the team in 1989. She currently has three cats: May-Li, Tuxie and Sophie. Her favorite part of the job is seeing her clients and their pets, helping sick pets get better, surgery and dentistry. She also likes seeing her occasional exotic pets.
Dr. Marie Raver obtained her degree in veterinary medicine from Ohio State University in May 2014, and joined the medical team at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital in January 2017. Most recently, Dr. Raver practiced high-quality animal medicine in the St. Petersburg area. A valued member of the veterinary community, Dr. Raver has been an active member of the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Raver's areas of professional interest include dentistry and surgery. She also volunteers with her favorite rescue group that supports dogs with special needs, LoveyLoaves Sanctuary. At home, Dr. Raver has eight rescue dogs of her own, two of which are wheelchair bound. In her free time, she enjoys playing indoor volleyball, running, watching Harry Potter, and spending time with her many dogs and cats.
Dr. Jamie Arredondo graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and Magna Cum Laude Honors from St. George's University in 2015. An advocate for animals and client education, Dr. Arredondo shares her compassion and knowledge with her clients and their special pets. She was born and raised near Chicago and, while in college, she developed special interests in wildlife and exotic animals during a volunteer program at the Crosley Zoo. Dr. Arredondo spent extensive time during veterinary school at externships in wildlife centers and avian and exotic exclusive veterinary hospitals. In her free time, she enjoys adventure travel, heading to the beach with her dogs, and competing with her friends at darts and pool.
